Who's Old Bill?

Since 1997, Old Bill's Fun Run has become a Jackson Hole institution benefiting local charities of all kinds. This unique and enormously successful philanthropic event, the first of its kind in the United States, was founded by an anonymous couple known simply as Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill, who created a means of widening community support of worthy Jackson charitable causes.
In the months leading up to the event, donors make gifts of any size to favorite causes by designating as many organizations as they wish and writing a single check. On the second Saturday of September, over 3,500 people participate in a day of celebration centered around a Fun Run and Walk. Donations are matched in part and distributed at an awards party in late October. Since its founding, the event has raised over $82.5 million and raised the ideal of a broadly philanthropic, caring community for all Jackson Hole residents.
This year will be the seventh year in which The Bunnery Bakery and Restaurant has donated most of the food for Old Bill’s Fun Run. Since fire regulations prohibit cooking fires on the Square this year, the Bunnery’s fabulous homemade granola will be the star of an irresistible yogurt parfait, with pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, juice and hot chocolate playing supporting roles. And it’s all free.
